The stunning, otherworldly feeling of this area always amazes me.
“Bryce Canyon is famous for its unique geology, consisting of a series of horseshoe-shaped amphitheaters carved from the eastern edge of the Paunsaugunt Plateau in southern Utah, U.S.A. You can see many eerie, grotesque and often whimsical hoodoos.” (https://www.nps.gov/brca/index.htm)

Exploring the relationship between seeing, perception, memory, feelings, and thoughts through pictures has been my enduring fascination. Mastering manual photographic techniques using a variety of cameras from 35mm to 4x5, and experimenting with shooting out-of-date film and cross-processing film, naturally evolved into digitally creating painterly photomontages--endless imaginary worlds drawn from the tapestry of everyday reality. In addition to being a freelance photographer for various publications, I was a photo editor at The New York Times for ten years and a gallery photo editor at the Daily News in New York.
