About Carol Whaley Addassi

Carol Whaley Addassi

Exploring the relationship between seeing, perception, memory, feelings, and thoughts through pictures has been my enduring fascination. Mastering manual photographic techniques using a variety of cameras from 35mm to 4x5, and experimenting with shooting out-of-date film and cross-processing film, naturally evolved into digitally creating photomontages--endless imaginary worlds drawn from the tapestry of everyday reality. In addition to being a freelance photographer for various publications, I was a photo editor at The New York Times for ten years and a gallery photo editor at the Daily News in New York. Visual storytelling, connecting ideas, events, and experiences, has been a lifelong adventure. Thank you for taking the time to look...
